    • Menu briefly showing after splash
    • Distance to home showing large values when not armed

📹 Field Test

We followed with a field test video and then the full reveal.
📺 Kairuhs Artificial Horizon FPV Cockpit Display – Features, Setup, and RC Plane Flight Demo w/OpenIPC

  • Demonstrated live telemetry via MAVLink (INAV → UART)
  • Introduced both PFD (Garmin G1000–style AHI HUD) and MFD (Tucano style MFD) layouts
  • Showed hardware, wiring, setup, and full flight demonstration

Note: V1 used 3.3V to power displays (per manufacturer recommendation) — which resulted in poor sunlight visibility.

🔄 Version 1.1 – April 2025, Refinement Begins

  • Fixed V1 bugs (splash/menu glitch, unarmed distance bug)
  • Added screen rotation
  • Introduced AP Wi-Fi config mode (hold BOOT during power-on/reset)
  • Removed legacy menu system
  • Added RC channel assignment & inversion for:
    • Throttle
    • Flaps
    • Gear
    • Flight Mode
  • Added new Full Compass layout
  • Began modding boards to run displays at 5V for better brightness

🖥️ Version 1.2 – MAY 2025, Expanded Screen Support

  • MFD now displayed on 1.14″ screens with:
    • RSSI
    • Remaining battery %
    • mAh used
  • Fixed pitch/horizon sync issue
  • Began producing boards with:
    • Horizontal connectors (for compact installs)
    • Solder pads for direct FC connection

⚙️ Version 2.0 – JULY 2025, Major Hardware + Radar + REFLEX HUD

  • Introduced new hardware design:
    • Removed button module
    • Added LoRa port
    • Integrated support for HUD + radar
  • New Features:
    • Support for 3 or 4 screens
    • Real-time radar module with LoRa-based pilot tracking
    • Assignable screen roles (PFD, MFD, HUD, Radar)
    • Individual screen rotation
    • Added fuel gauge layout for more scale realism

🛩️ Radar System Features

  • Adjustable radar range
  • Real-time display of:
    • LoRa link status
    • Satellite count
    • Radar distance
    • Vehicle & Pilot IDs
  • Menu controls for:
    • Max target range
    • Sim spawn rate / max sim count
    • Friendly/enemy team assignment
    • Display modes: Friendly / Hostile / Both / Off
    • Pursuit tuning (aggressiveness, chase speed, turn rate, loop agility, etc.)
    • Target labels: Show ID, distance, altitude, etc.
    • “Eject Factor” for sim drop-off behavior

Note: This radar system is in active beta and evolving.

✨ Version 2.1 – JULY 2025, HUD Improvement + LED BOOST PROTOTYPE + FIELD TEST

  • Introduced shiftable reflex HUD layout for 1.14″ displays
  • HUD includes:
    • Pitch Ladder
    • Speed
    • Altitude
    • Heading
    • Roll Indicator
    • AHI (Attitude Horizon Indicator)

We designed a DIY HUD using bright LEDs, a beam splitter, and a Fresnel lens — excellent reflection at night; partial daylight performance with boosted LED brightness.

✨ Version 2.139 – NOVEMBER 2025, Massive Gauge & Ground Role Expansion + Radar Boost

Version 2.139 is one of the most ambitious updates to date, introducing a full air and ground gauge system, improved radar performance, a complete menu overhaul, and expanded hardware support. Users now have access to 4 new customizable air gauge roles, with 12 different gauge types that can be individually positioned, sized, and color-tuned. For ground vehicles, 8 brand-new roles are now available, including: Track Dash 1, Track Dash 2, Street Dash 1, Inclinometer, Ground Radar, Ground Gauges, Radio, and License Plate. These roles display detailed telemetry such as voltage, arm/track time, compass, amperage, simulated RPM derived from throttle position, temperature, and fuel levels derived from voltage. Track Dash 1 also includes smart status flags for MAVLink connection, overheat state, low voltage, and GPS signal strength.

The radar system has been significantly upgraded with smoother responsiveness, new LoRa and Wi-Fi indicators, and adjustable radar range scrolling directly from your transmitter. You now define the top and bottom radar bounds in the web UI, and the transmitter scroll function lets you move within that defined range during flight. Both the radar and HUD screens support flashing full-screen alerts (e.g., red flashes for warnings) with zero delay, and these alerts can be enabled or disabled in the menu settings.

The menu system has been overhauled, organizing controls into new tabs: Basics, Advanced, Radio, Ground, and Manual. The manual is now viewable directly in the UI. The HUD now displays satellite count and distance to home, with the satellite count turning red when below 7 for immediate visibility. A new throttle bottom percentage setting allows accurate scaling with mid-throttle-centered inputs on ground vehicles. Color themes are now dynamically adjustable for ground roles and air gauges, allowing for greater customization across layouts.

Hardware 2.1 support adds breakout support for a temperature sensor and light sensor (in development). The temp sensor enables real-time ESC, motor, engine, or ambient temperature display, with nitro compatibility confirmed.

Bonus improvements: the Artificial Horizon air gauge can now be dimmed independently, the license plate can be customized, radar visuals were refined, and horizon responsiveness has been further enhanced.

✨ Version 2.140 – DECEMBER 2025, Live Screen Swapping

This update introduces full screen role control via transmitter. Users can assign a TX Screen Select channel to choose which screen is being controlled, and a separate Role Cycle channel to switch roles on that screen (HUD, Radar, Gauges, etc). A default screen option is available for those who prefer not to assign a select channel, and each screen can now have specific roles enabled or disabled to simplify cycling and avoid unnecessary swaps.

✨ Version 2.141 – DECEMBER 2025, Backend Prep

This version includes internal groundwork and UI adjustments to support the new TX switching system. No major user-facing features were added, but 2.141 ensures smoother performance and compatibility with upcoming display logic.

✨ Version 2.142 – JANUARY 2026, Splash + Warning Fixes

Following the 2.140 release, this version restores proper startup visuals by fixing splash screen display across all screens. It also reactivates the warning overlay logic, ensuring alerts flash correctly on all active displays without disrupting the new role-switching behavior.
